Vivianite (ex Brian Kosnar Collection)

Vivianite can be a tough species to photograph. We tried our best to get the great rich green color and true gemminess of this specimen to come through in the photographs, but the piece still looks better in person in my opinion. This piece was acquired personally by Brian Kosnar in Bolivia in the Fall of 2000 directly at the mine at Huanuni. This was one of very few gem Vivianites that he was able to obtain. It is simply a very gemmy, sharp, HIGHLY lustrous specimen with a small amount of accenting Pyrite and Sphalerite. The mine at Huanuni has produced some of the finest Vivianite specimens in the world. The piece displays very well from the angle showed in the photos. Valued at $875 high retail.
