Vivanite from Huanuni has become increasingly difficult to obtain these days, and very little material has come out over the past decade. The phosphate zone at Huanuni hasn't produced much due to the fact that the miners are restricted from visiting this area to collect specimens. This particular specimen came out of Haununi in the early 1980's. It's a beautiful piece especially for a display-worthy thumbnail. The piece is a sharp, highly lustrous, GEM/gemmy, rich green color, prismatic crystal. Many of the Vivainites from Huanuni are not often this lustrous or gemmy, even in the smaller cyrstals. Virtually damage free save the back where the detached from the matrix.
