Item Description
Vivanite from Huanuni has become increasingly difficult to obtain these days, and very little material has come out over the past decade. The phosphate zone at Huanuni hasn't produced much due to the fact that the miners are restricted from visiting this area to collect specimens. This particular specimen came out of Haununi in the early 1980's. It's a unique piece, and one of the better quality Vivianites I've offered from Huanuni in the auctions for a while. The piece hosts a sharp, highly lustrous, GEM/gemmy, blue-green color, prismatic crystal on Pyrite matrix. The most unique aspect of this specimen is the fact that the crystal is unusually curved, which is not unheard of for Vivianite, but not often seen from Huanuni. The crystal measures 2.5 cm long. A worthwhile display specimen of this classic material.
