Sculptural and impressive large 360-degree diverging spray of different length, parallel-growth vivianite prisms. The highly lustrous gemmy crystals have rich blue-green color and appear to be black in most light. Most of the crystals are terminated. The large prisms at the top have contacted terminations and you barely notice the few bruised tips to the lower side car crystals. The crystals GLOW, when back lit. This striking large cluster is from a sedmentary bog iron deposit, with phosphatic nodules, as evidenced by the bit of goethite/limonite matrix at the base on the back of the piece. Older, excellent large material from this famous and well-known deposit, as it comes from the Michel Jactat Collection. He is a semiretired French dealer who specialized in minerals from Brazil. This gem crystal was part of his old collection, accumulated over decades mining and dealing gems and minerals there.
