Villiuamite with Pectolite (classic material)

Here we have a wonderful classic example of Villiaumite from the Khibiny Massif in Russia. Villiaumite is a rare halide mineral, which was first found in the Los Archipelago of Guinea, and named after French explorer Maxime Villiaume, who found the first piece of the species. This is a good specimen of this famous material from the Koashva Open Pit in Russia featuring fiery carmine-red color Villiaumite, associated with "sprays" of white acicular Pectolite on the back. The largest Villiaumite measures 1.7 cm on edge, and it well-formed and complete. A really attractive example of this rare and historic material.
