Item Description
Villiaumite is a rare halide species, which was first discovered in the Los Archipelago of Guinea. It was named in honor of French explorer Maxime Villiaume, who found the first example of the species. This piece is a classic example of the famous pieces from the Koashva Open Pit in Russia featuring fiery orange-red color Villiaumite, associated with "sprays" of white acicular Pectolite on the back. An attractive example of this rare and historic material.
From the collection of Colin Manlove.
