Item Description
Namibia's finest vesuvianite specimens come from this obscure skarn deposit. Sharp, lustrous, partially translucent, golden-brown to root beer-brown prisms to about 5.0 cm fill numerous vugs in a striking jackstraw fashion in the sculptural large matrix on his impressive large specimen. The crystals appear to be in vugs, but were etched out of enclosing calcite with acid. The base has been sawed to enhance the display quality. A very fine, large and uncommon example of the species and locale.
