Item Description
A fantastic looking and very rare style of vesuvianite from this well-known locale, famous for "raspberry" grossular garnets. The sharp, terminated, amazingly glassy, gemmy to translucent, mottled olive-green crystals have surreal parallel-growth form on this striking large piece. They look like basalt columns in the U.S. Devils Postpile National Monument or the Giants Causeway in Northern Ireland! The terminated crystals look great, even when the piece is inverted and there are more vesuvianites on the back. RARE and choice older style material from the Alfred Stevenson Collection and purchased in Tucson in 1982.
