Item Description

These are truly some of the most distinctive crystals in the world because virtually no other species has this amazing color. These scintillating, gemmy and lustrous, manganese-bearing vesuvianite crytals are vibrant violet-lavender to near colorless. The crystals reach 1.2 cm and many crystals are bi-colored. The matrix is massive granular vesuvianite. Excellent material with eye-popping color from this renowned locale. The mine is now extinct. Scattered spots of orange fluorescence are noted under LW UV light. Ex Bob Trimingham Collection and acquired in 1989, while the mine was still active. Valued $500-750. BETTER IN PERSON.
