Item Description
These Vesuvianite specimens are so beautiful and genuinely some of the most distinctive crystals due to their unique and amazing color. These are manganese-bearing Vesuvianite crystals, and I'm sure many of you are familiar with the classic purple crystals from the the Jeffrey Mine, but what makes this particular piece special is the combination of the vibrant purple hue accented with an intense reddish color. The display side of this piece is loaded with very sharp, highly lustrous, translucent prisms with the classic purple hue near the center of the crystals and the reddish to nearly true red color on the terminations. The largest crystal measures 7 mm long, which is about average for this material. Very little damage, only some roughness on the edges where the piece was removed from the pocket wall. You just don't see this kind of color combination, not only in Vesuvianite, but virtually any other species from any world locality!! Pieces like this are becoming very scarce on the market, and truly should be appreciated for the uniqueness as the the Jeffrey Mine is now completely shut down, and we will never see more of these amazing Vesuvianite again. Valued at $950 in the inventory.
