Nice, single crystal of Vesuvianite, on matrix, from the Ariccia locality in todays metro area of Rome - talk about a difficult to collect urban site, now! The luster on this well-formed, 1 cm crystal is very good, and the expected bit of edgewear on this soft Vesuvianite does not detract significantly from the appearance. Previously in the collection of Gilbert Gauthier, this small cabinet specimen is a good representaive piece for the locality.
