Item Description
Intensely glassy, transparent to translucent, olive-brown, vesuvianite crystals to 2.9 cm are attractively set on both the front and back of this excellent combination piece from a classic New England locality, where vesuvianite was described in 1848. Green diopside crystals flank the vesuvianites on both sides and matrix is mostly microcrystalline grossular garnet. Classic combination material from the Robert Whitmore Collection.
