Item Description

Please note: This specimen is labeled as coming from the "Roshenkopf" in the Tyrol of Austria. This could be a reference to the Rotkopf locality, but it's not for certain. If anybody out there has an idea on specifically where this piece is from, please let us know. The piece features sharp, lustrous, dark root beer colored pseudohexagonal crystals measuring up to 3 mm sitting on blue-grey colored Clinochlore on matrix. Very eye-catching under magnification, and a classic example of an Alpine Vesuvianite. From the collection of Chester ("Chet") S. Lemanski Jr. of Browns Mills, New Jersey (https://www.mindat.org/user-461.html). Collection #2345CL. Chet was born 1947 in started collecting minerals circa 1957.
