Item Description
Fine quality, razor sharp, highly lustrous, light yellow-green and pinkish-purple (manganoan) Vesuvianite crystals on this gorgeous and bright specimen from the Jeffrey Mine. Many of the crystals are actually doubly-terminated! The combination of the green and the purple is iconic and unique in the mineral world. Very minor contacts, but good shape and very attractive overall. The piece is nearly crystallized all the way around, making it a near complete "floater". This locality is completely closed down and will never produce these specimens again. Ex Charlie Key specimen. Charlie is arguably the most sucessful dealer of the second half of the 20th century, along with being the namesake for TWO mineral species (Keyite and Ludlockite).
