Item Description

These are some of the more attractive and unusual Vesuvianite crystals to come out of any "Alpine cleft" locality. This piece features many excellent quality, sharp, lustrous, translucent, "root beer" colored prisms of Vesuvianite with strange "straw"-colored "cat's eye" terminations. The crystals are intermixed with semi-metallic Clinochlore blades. The largest Vesuvianite measures 1.0 cm, which is actually very good sized for the locality. These are some of the most distinctive Vesuvianites I have seen from any locality. It is reminiscent of Tourmaline crystals that I have seen from Brazil with the same "cat's eye" effect at the tips of the crystals. Certainly uncharacteristic and cool for the species! This is one of the better pieces of this material that we've had to offer. Priced at
