Item Description

A superb green and purple bicrystal group of Vesuvianite from the classic (and now finished) Jeffrey Mine in Canada. This locality is one of the largest open-pit Asbestos mines in the world, and is well known for its colorful and distinctive Vesuvianite specimens which can range in color from colorless to purple to green in most cases. This piece is a distinctive crystal group and is in great shape overall, with only one contact near the center upper portion of htep iece. It's loaded with crystals which measure up to 1.0 cm, and displays wonderfully from several directions. The color combination of green and Mn-bearing purple crystals makes for a really pleasing visual. You can't believe how these pieces have increased in value over the last few years. This one came to us with at $2000 price tag on it, and this seems to be the trend that these pieces are riding since little is available on the market. Bow that nothing is coming out of this mine, be sure to get specimens from Jeffrey while you can.
