Item Description

A lovely sharp, lustrous, gemmy, green crystal group of Vesuvianite from the classic (and now finished) Jeffrey Mine in Canada. This locality was one of the largest open-pit Asbestos mines in the world, and is well known for its colorful and distinctive Vesuvianite specimens which can range in color from colorless to purple to green in most cases. This piece is in great shape overall, with crystals measuring up to 1.2 cm, and is a nice little piece for the material. The color is excellent on this thumbnail sized specimen, and now that nothing is coming out of this mine, be sure to get specimens from Jeffrey while you can.
