very large Scheelite (classic locale!) with Quartz

This is a very large, attractive specimen of Scheelite from the classic, old Tae Hwa tin mine. Composed of a single, huge Scheelite crystal with attached Quartz, the Scheelite has excellent luster and the dark, purple-grey color that many Tae Hwa Scheelites are known for. There is expected contacting along the bottom, but the piece displays very well. Scheelite from the Tae Hwa Mine is highly desirable for its unusual color, rarity, and crystal size, and therefore is commensurately uncommon on the market today. This small cabinet is probably 50 years or more out of the ground. And while you instinctively want to think that such a dark Scheelite (or any dark mineral, really) won't fluoresce, it most certainly has a level of classic, blue-white fluorescence that you see in the species. These date to before the Korean war, and are almost never seen today. An important, stunning large piece, of 740 grams (nearly 2 pounds!)
