very large Natrolite crystal (Trimingham Coll.)

Item Description

This well-known Trap Rock quarry has produced some of the finest New Jersey natrolites and this is an aesthetic large example. The large, sharply terminated, transparent, colorless to translucent crystal is preferentially frosted or coated with sparkly microcrystals or matrix and is nicely accented with a smaller natrolite. A very fine quality display specimen (most are single crystals) from the Bob Trimingham Collection. Formerly in the Paul Patchick Collection and dating to the early 1970s or before, according to Bob's label. I have seen VERY few examples of this size and quality, usually at prices of $1500-2000 or more in East Coast dealer stocks. I am told they were found circa 1980 .
