This amazingly sculptural large flattened copper specimen has a distinctive biomorphic look to it. It looks like a dragon with a long neck, head with a tuft on top and a curled, uplifted tail! Most of the body, neck and head are composed of massive copper and intergrown subhedral crystals. Adding much pizzazz, both sides of the striking tail are composed of sharp tetrahexahedral crystals, as is one side of the tuft atop the head. This dramatic and impressive large old-time Copper Country piece has been shellacked to highlight the beautiful patina. Valued at $2000 for sculptural quality and size.
