Unrepaired Colorado amazonite plates of this impressive size are SELDOM on the market! This mounded monster is richly covered with sharp, moderately translucent, pretty turquoise-blue crystals to 3.9 cm. The terminations have fine color of deeper blue, with the prism faces being frosty/milky. A few scattered broken crystals are noted, but have very minimal impact on this dramatic large plate. In fact you seldom esee a plate this size, in even nearly this good condition, and without repairs or restorations as well. It should be valued at $2500-4500 low to high, I would think. A very good value for the size of a Colorado amazonite!. Classic old piece, and it weighs in at a hefty 10.8 pounds or 4.9 kilos.
