Item Description

An aesthetic large crust of botryoidal malachite with rich color and striking velvety luster. The colors of the shimmering chatoyant botryoids vary from dark green to rich forest-green to light green. Very nifty and the holes add to the pazzazz. The reverse side reveals the banded, extremely chatoyant nature of the botryoids. In very fine shape, with only a couple of small scratchs noted in the lower portion of the piece. This is excellent old-time material for China (1980s, when Chinese material was just coming to market). From the Shilu Mine and compares with the best from Africa. Ex Schlichter Collection.
