Item Description

This specimen came from a one time find (2003) at Siglo XX which ony produced less than 2 dozens specimens of this material. It's actually amazing that these specimens have not been found in the past considering the age and vast quantity of specimens that this locality has produced. The piece is composed of a beautiful blue Vauxite "ball", which is actually covering/replacing a sphercial Wavellite aggregate on matrix. To top it off, the Vauxite "ball" is associated with a few sharp, colorless, gemmy Quartz crystals. This "ball" is one of the largest individual spheres from the find. This piece is extremely unique, and comes from the type locality for Vauxite to boot. Originally brought into the country by Brian Kosnar.
