Variscite (rich color) on Chalcedony

These impressive and attractive Variscites truly have some of the richest / strongest green color that you'll find for the species. The cherry on top is that they're CRYSTALLIZED, which makes them all the more significant. Variscite is well known from Utah in massive uncrystallized examples which are highly valued in the collecting world, but I want to stress that the specimens from Brazil should be appreciated just as much for their quality. These are by no means common on the market, and they are truly superb for their quality and rich color. This piece features a lovely 5 mm crystallized radiating "sphere" of Variscite on grey Chalcedony matrix. Very attractive up close with sparkling luster. A fine example of this beloved phosphate from Brazil. PLEASE NOTE: These Variscite specimens for many years were labeled as coming from Itumbiara in Goias, but it's important to stress that they are actually from Ribeirao Cascalheira in the state of Mato Grosso.
