Item Description
Sculptural rich green segmented pods of Variscite are surrounded by striking dense bands of variable yellow-green Crandallite on this very fine polished slab. The intermixed intricate and colorful patterns of the rare phosphates are a joy to behold. These are old USA classics, from the older locality of Little Green Monster Mine in the early to mid-1900s and the heyday of collectors like Art Montgomery and Ed Over. Modern variscite is very different, and frankly more common. These, with the yellow banding, are definitely harder to find. Ex Dick Hauck Collection. 31 grams mass.
