Item Description

An excellent, polished, CABINET slab with intricate patterns of the green, yellow and gray phosphates, variscite, crandallite and wardite from the famous Utah locality of the Little Green Monster Variscite Mine. This particular slab has striking segmented pods of pretty pastel-green variscite. The yellow-green crandallite and gray wardite surrounding the variscite have exceptional banding. This is the Type Locality for wardite. The polished face does not appear to be shellacked or sprayed, as is common for these. A trivial bit of periphery wear is noted on only one end. This is OLD-TIME, CHOICE material from this famed locale. The label on the back of the slab has a 1946 date. Valued $400 for size and the richness of all the colors. Old material, no longer found like this! Ex Russell McFall Collection.
