Item Description
An excellent and rare, equant, pleasing green, vanadium-rich uvite crystal from the small mid to late 1990s find at Mogok. The gemmy and lustrous crystal has a yellow core, as the backlit photo highlights. vanadium is a rare color inducing element in tourmalines. This is a complete all-around and pristine, floater crystal. The contacts on the back and base have no damage, per se. 13.74 carats - this was large for the find. At the time, these rare vanadium-induced green uvites sold for their weight in platinum. This would easily have been priced then at $300-400.
