When it comes to certain mineral species, some localities are singularly known for producing the finest examples of a particular mineral. That is certainly the case when it comes to the Vanadinites from Mibladen, Morocco. These phenomenal specimens are the pinnacle for the species, without question. Of all the crystallized Vanadinite in the world, we haven't seen anything better for the last 50 years from any other. This toenail sized piece is not your typical tabular hexagonal crystal, as it features dramatic and eye-catching "hoppered" or skeletal faces where the speed of growth faster than the surrounding faces, creating gorgeous three-dimensional forms. In addition to the beautiful morphology, the piece is still fine quality, with rich red color and sharp, lustrous, hexagonal faces, and no matrix. The piece is nearly a complete "floater", save one tiny point of contact on the base. This is not your run-of-the-mill Vanadinite, and certainly would make a stellar addition to any collection.
