Item Description

A fairly hard to find specimen of Vanadinite from the Western Union Mine (Western Mine) in Arizona. This piece is a showy and eye-catching group of narrow prismatic crystals of which range from a strong red hue to a lighter golden-orange color. Some of the crystals show a slight skeletal or "hoppered" habit, but the majority of the little crystals (best seen under magnification) have steep pyramidal terminations, which is rarely seen in the species, as most of them have flat / basal terminations. You can see the little "pencil"-like terminations on the crystals in the close-up photos. A wonderful old piece of this desirable material from this old mine in Western Arizona.
