Vanadinite (Trimingham Coll.)

Item Description

Sharp, lustrous, yellowish-gray, barrel-shaped prisms, to 1.2 cm, are densely and attractively set on matrix on this showy and excellent piece from this famous locale. Some of the barrels have nifty cavernous terminations. These were originally sold as pyromorphites in the late 1970s, when they first came out. The bit of scattered bruising and periphery wear are noted, but are certainly only modest detractions to this highly representative example from the Bob Trimingham Collection.
