Vanadinite (Orellana Coll.)

Item Description

Highly lustrous, sparkly, translucent, brick-red, blocky to tabular vanadinite prisms with glorious areas of reddish-orange fire are dramatically clustered on all sides of the sculptural large brecciated matrix, that includes some bladed barite. The prisms reach 1.8 cm and I like the way the largest crystals are clustered on the top of the piece. One of the large crystals on the top is contacted, but has no damage, per se. The piece is actually in great shape, with very few broken crystals. Most of the crystals on the back side have an oxide coating. This showy and rich large specimen is from the early 2000s finds at Mibladen. Ex Orellana Collection.
