Item Description
Scintillating, gemmy and lustrous, brick-red, vanadinite barrels to 8 mm are festooned on the sculptural matrix of solid massive barite, that is overlain with nifty bundles of parallel-growth, oxide-coated, barite blades on this dramatic and excellent LARGE CABINET Mibladen vanadinite combination specimen from the finds of the 1980s, many years ago now. Ex Franz Saller collection of Bavaria. The vannies are in super shape, and this large plate is perfect but for only a very small bit of edge and periphery wear to the barite in one spot; but is certainly not a visual detraction (you have to look close to see it). The sparkliness of many of the larger vanadinites is definitely a cut above average, as they have gorgeous flashes of yellow-orange fire. Fairly valued at $1500 or more, and was 1000 Euros as I paid for it in the collection
