Vanadinite on Barite

Item Description

A classic, excellent and aesthetic vanadinite on barite small cabinet combination from the major early 1990s finds at Mibladen. Highly lustrous, sharp, brick-red to reddish-orange, tabular, hexagonal crystals are dramatically clustered on the front and one edge of the oxide-coated, very sculptural, boot-shaped, bladed barite matrix plate. The crystals reach 8 mm and have flashes of bright yellow-orange translucence. Excellent quality on the front, with fine composition. Nearly pristine, with only trivial bruising. These specimens deserve more attention for being some of the most impressive representations of the species extant. Valued at $600-800, for aesthetics, richness and excellent quality of the crystals.
