Vanadinites from the J.C. Holmes Mine in Arizona are easily recognized for their color and crystal form. This old classic specimen has highly lustrous, translucent, sparkling orange-brown prismatic crystals of Vanadinite on matrix. Sharp, well defined, short hexagonal crystals to 5 mm, some with double pyramidal terminations, cover almost the entire piece. The near floater is in excellent condition with very limited bruising that certainly doesn’t detract from the beauty and three dimensionality of the specimen. A high quality Vanadinite that is old material seldom seen from this classic Arizona location. Ex. Robert E. Reynolds Collection. He self collected these sometime in the 1970s-1980s.
