Item Description
Interesting, and attractive, this cluster features large, tabular Vanadinite crystals that are arranged in a stepped, circular pattern around a central core of intergrown crystals. This creates an almost flowerlike effect, not unlike what you see in the cross-section of a snail shell or the leaves of a succulent. The largest Vanadinite crystal is 1.7 cm across. One side of the specimen shows the flat development of the crystals, with fair to good luster, while the other side is more lustrous, deeper in color, and shows a different development to Vanadinite. Realistically, this miniature could be displayed from either side. This is from a single superb pocket found in summer 2001 and brought to market at the Denver show of that year, as 9/11 happened. I recall the tables of the offering vividly from the show, that year. In person, it is quite impressive, more so than most vanadinites. Valued $1200
