The phenomenal Vanadinite specimens from Mibladen are the pinnacle for the species. Of all the crystallized Vanadinite in the world, we haven't seen anything better for the last 50 years from anywhere else in the world. It's important to note that were it not for these specimens, Vanadinite would not be terribly well represented in the mineral world in terms of crystallized display pieces. This gorgeous miniature specimen is a superb quality, rich red color, sharp, lustrous crystal group free of matrix. The piece is fully crystallized on all sides, and shows a captivating mixture of smooth, well-formed tabular hexagonal crystals and beautiful skeletal / "hoppered" growths. One side has a wonderful, geometric, "stepped" growth, while the reverse side has an almost organic appearance, resembling a plant or coral style of growth. Looking closely I can't find any real damage of note to the central crystals (there is a small contact on the base where it detached from the pocket wall). Although the main crystal on this piece is a composite group, one rarely sees Vanadinite crystals of this size, even from Mibladen. A great quality Vanadinite specimen from this world-famous locale.
