Vanadinite (gemmy crystals)

Vanadinite is really not what I would consider a rare mineral, but were it not for the pieces from the Mibladen District in Morocco, it would be MUCH harder to find on the market. Certainly, there is no doubt that these famous Vanadinite specimens are and the pinnacle for the species. When someone mentions Vanadinite, the majority of people will probably conjure an image of a specimen from Mibladen in their minds. Of all the crystallized Vanadinite that has been found elsewhere, we haven't seen anything better for the last 50 years from anywhere outside of Mibladen. This gorgeous miniature specimen features fine, lustrous, rich red color, sharp, hexagonal crystals measuring up to 5 mm, sitting on matrix. The crystals are actually fairly gemmy when you look up close with backlighting, which is not common for this material. Under magnification I can't find any major damage, maybe just a few TINY nicks. A great quality Vanadinite specimen from this world-famous locale.
