Item Description
A classic example of the well-known Vanadinites from the J.C. Holmes Mine (J.C. Holmes Claim), in Patagonia, Arizona. Sharp, very lustrous, well-formed, hexagonal, bi-pyramidal, orange colored crystals of Vanadinite measuring up to 2 mm cover a good portion of the underlying matrix. No damage. If you collect thumbnails, Zircons or Colorado minerals, don't miss out on this one. It's an old time piece, and hard to replace in today's market. This piece comes from the collection of Willard W. Wulff (1904-1998) of Colorado Springs, Colorado, a prominent figure and collector of Colorado minerals. Wulff was one of the founding members of the Colorado Springs Mineralogical Society in 1936. The specimen come with one of his classic typed labels on the bottom of "Perky" box stating that it was acquired from Fred Rhodes in 1985.
