Item Description

The classic Vanadinites from Morocco are truly the best crystallized examples of the species known. These pieces have been coming out for over 40 years, and the top pieces still command a high value on the market today. Even though they might be common, they are still very impressive for what they are. This miniatures hots vibrant red color, sharp, lustrous, tabular hexagonal crystals measuring up to 1.1 cm across with minor white Barite on matrix. I particularly like the isolation of the crystals and the fact that they are beautifully free-standing on matrix. Minor edge wear, but good quality all around. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#9825). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
