A superb and aesthetic vanadinite specimen from the classic, but now hard to obtain source of the San Carlos Mine of Chihuahua, Mexico. Sharp, isolated, elongated, orange vanadinite prisms to 1.2 cm strikingly cover the gossan crust and are seriously complimented by the starkly contrast calcite. I particulary like the way the largest crystals are at the top of the piece. Outstanding quality with only a few broken crystals. RARE in this quality and crystal form. These came out in the 1970s and 70s, with none since. Ex Jaime Bird Collection.
