Item Description
Sparkling, translucent and lustrous, pyramidal, hexagonal, reddish-orange to yellow-orange vanadinite crystals to 5 mm are festooned on the front and crown the crest of the matrix wedge on the back of this striking specimen from the J.C. Holmes Mine of Arizona. I really like the way the largest crystals are along the crest of this showy piece. Nearly pristine on the front, with only very modest periphery wear to the upper right-edge of the piece. Certainly not detracting from this excellent, old-time piece, that probably dates to the mid-1960s finds here. Classic material, seldom seen today. Choice material from this locale and find. Ex Ed Bancroft Collection.
