Lustrous, sharp, translucent, brick-red, tabular, blocky, hexagonal vanadinite prisms richly and aesthetically cover the large sculptural blocky sawed matrix on this fine specimen from Mibladen. The impressive central compound crystal at the crest is 2.7 cm across. The crystals GLOW with reddish-orange color, when back lit. This excellent and artistic piece is probably from the older 1970s and 1980s finds at this prolific locale, by form, color, style and matrix along with the relatively low price on the former dealer label. Some faces have a preferential light oxide coating, which is typical for the locale. Very nearly pristine, with all the crystal density, with only a trivial bit of bruising. Ex Bob Reynolds Collection, a well-known fossil and mineral expert and Curator of the San Bernardino County Museum. He passed away in 2020.
