Sharp, lustrous, translucent, dark brick-red, tabular, vanadinite prisms are festooned on this pristine, very showy and excellent small cabinet from 2012-2013 finds at famed Mibladen. Quite a few crystals in the richly mounded specimen have striking, interesting and dramatically enhancing cogwheel features, a highly desirable feature. The impressive, large cogwheel crystal on the end is 2.2 cm across. The "tail" of exposed matrix adds real contrast and quality to the piece. Mibladen is easily the world's finest source of vanadinite specimens, and this is a most excellent example of this style, varietal and color.
