Item Description

Scintillating rich crimson-red, translucent, hexagonal vanadinite prisms, to 6 mm, are strikingly festooned on the blocky oxide-tinted small cabinet granular calcite matrix. A very rich dusting of tiny, glassy, flattened, colorless calcite crystals on one face is a fine complement and accessory. This impressively colorful and rich combination specimen is from well-known 1990s finds at the Pure Potential Mine and are considered to be some of the finest US vanadinites. See the 1996 Mineralogical Record article in Vol. 27, No. 5. Ex Bob Reynolds Collection, a well-known fossil and mineral expert and Curator of the San Bernardino County Museum. A rich and highly representative combination example of the species and locale.
