Vanadinite

Item Description

The matrix for this specimen is massive white barite (some bits of which also coats the back side of the vanadinite crystals on the left). It is 3-dimensional and complete all around, presenting a great knoll of larger crystals grading down in size, perched atop. These crystals cover the barite and are lustrous and translucent with a superb, intense, classic Coke-Can red color. Crystal size reaches 1.2 cm across and a few of the vanadinite crystals are hoppered, and there is almost no damage at all. Ex Dr. Jim Gebel Collection, valued $1200-1500.
