Item Description

These single crystals of Vanadinite are like nothing I have seen before from anywhere in Namibia, let alone the famous Kaokeveld Region. This asparagus-green crystal has excellent color and a surface texture that is so rich it looks almost velvety. Vanadinites from here have been known to be coated by Descloizite or Mimetite, so this unusual color is not a surprise. The prism faces are well-defined, and the termination is keen. What is a surprise on this specimen is the broken bottom, from where is was contacted. The break has exposed a clear, glassy interior, which was not at all expected. Overall, it is an amazing thumbnail for rarity and aesthetics (in it's own way).
