Item Description

Rare and quite distinctive, this sharp, very large single crystal of Vanadinite is like none I have seen before (and we have only gotten in a very few) from anywhere in Namibia, let alone the famous Kaokeveld Region. Standing 1.5 cm tall and 1.2 cm wide, this asparagus-green crystal has excellent color and a surface texture that is so rich it looks almost velvety. Vanadinites from here have been known to be coated by Descloizite or Mimetite, so this unusual color is not a surprise. The prism faces are well-defined, and the termination is keen. Overall, it is an amazing thumbnail for rarity and aesthetics (in it's own way).
