These striking and beautiful, V-twinned, butterfly calcites are certainly amongst the most famous single calcite finds of the modern era in China, and came out around 2000. They were very expensive at that time, still are and disappeared quickly. A beautifully glassy, gemmy, thick, hematite-tinted (only in the termination of the large twin), V-twin looks fabulous from either side. The tinting reminds me of classic Elmwood calcites. The sidecar crystal and matrix add character. The twin and sidecar are pristine. Specimens of this quality are uncommon on the market today. Contemporary classic material. MUCH BETTER IN PERSON.
