Item Description
Uvite is an uncommon member of the Tourmaline Group that reaches its zenith at Brumado, rarely in crystals colored a deep cherry red color like this. This lustrous and translucent specimen features a single, discrete, very dark red-maroon, 1.2 cm crystal on a granular, white matrix of sparkling Dolomite. Complete on front, damaged on one back face. Uvite specimens have been exceedingly rare on the market in recent years and good specimens with isolated crystals like this on contrasting white matrix are uncommon.
