Uvite Tourmaline (ex Kay Robertson Collection)

Item Description

Here we have an excellent quality, sharp, lustrous, gemmy green, trigonal crystal of Uvite Tourmaline from the famous mines around Brumado in Brazil. The crystal is in excellent condition all the way around, and shows some unusual "cloud" like inclusions near the surface. The locality where these classic Tourmalines are found is actually the third largest open air Magnesite mine in the world. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#11464). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
